Our New Home Finally!

On November 30 we got the keys to our new house and moved in on Dec 1st. We had been living in Payson with my parents since August. I love my parents and am grateful for them letting us have a home to stay in but and glad to finally be in our own. The kids stayed in school up in Payson until the 18th and I worked on unpacking and getting settled. I even painted the kids' rooms. Not a project I will take on again anytime soon. Our home is awesome. Still not completely settled yet. We are still in need of a couple of beds and what not but it is getting there. Unfortunately Daryl is still in Hawaii but hopefully one day soon he will be back to enjoy it with us cuz I don't want to move again for a long time!!

Christmas!!!

We had a pretty good Christmas. We spent it together in our new house. It was small because moving into a new house at Christmas kind of not a good idea but we still had fun. My brothers were home from the war for a bit and were able to come out. 1st time we have all been together for Christmas in several years. It was great to see them and enjoy company with them for a couple of days. We took family pictures which was a bit caotic but we have them. Jordyn was a baby the last time we had one taken with everybody. ( A few have come and some have gone since then). I love my family and am grateful for the time we had.

Back In Arizona-Blog on Hold

Hi Everyone,
As you can see I haven't updated in a while. We have moved back to Arizona but are still in the process of finding a home and finding Daryl a job here. House hunting is going slower than expected. It is a little depressing at times. Anyway I am on my inlaws computer and we don't have ours hooked up yet to be able to download pictures so it will be a while before I can update. I am praying for sooner than later. Wish us luck and hope to post again soon!!!

Kylyn's 1st Birthday and Memorial Day Celebration

My baby turned 1 year old on Memorial day this year!. We had a BBQ and invited some friends, neighbors and we were fortunate to have Daryl's sister and her family here to share with us, although we missed our family and friends from home. We had a cake just for Kylyn and one for everyone else of course. She had a fun time with that cake although it came back to haunt us that night because it made her sick, but as you'll see in the slide show it was worth it. I still can't believe a year has gone by. It makes me a little sad to see her growing so fast. We will have to celebrate again when we get back to Arizona. Sorry the slide show is a little long but worth it.

On May 8th the kids school put on a May Day celebration. Each of the different grades learned a different cultural dance. I got it on video but I can't figure out how to get the dance from my video camera to my computer so I will have to show it to everyone later. Anyway they did a great job. Bransen kind of forgot his dance a bit but he was really cute. They all did a great job on their dances. I told Jordyn she will have to show everyone how to use poi balls and dance the hula when we get home.

Best Ranger Competition

This past weekend both of my brothers competed in the 2009 Best Ranger Competiton at Fort Benning, GA. It was 3 days of nonstop grueling activities that they had to do. Running, shooting, swimming, land navigation at night, tri tower challenge, helocast, and tons of other things. My brother Dan won the 2002 competition and I believe this was his 4th time competing. It was Troy's first. Anyway they both did awesome. Dan and his teammate placed 2nd and Troy's team placed 8th. My mom and dad were there watching and waiting. They said it was a pretty good nail biting competition. One of these days I will actually get to go watch, but I am really proud of both of them.

Easter Sunday

Easter was small but busy this year. Of course the Easter Bunny came and brought the kids a few things. We got up, I started preparing a few things for dinner and then we went to church. Our neighbors 3 houses down are kind of investigating the church. Mckenna is the one that has been going to Scouts with Austen. His older sister Jorin has gone to YW for the last couple of weeks and Malachi has been going with us to church on Sundays. They all came to church with us Easter Sunday. They all seemed to enjoy it and we are hoping that maybe they will start the discussions soon. The sisters have been holding FHE with them. Anyway, when we got home we had them, the Garcia's and the Gentry's from our ward come over for dinner. We had tons of food of course and the kids had fun hiding eggs...finally. I am still overloaded with candy. Not good when trying to diet. It was a nice Easter even though I miss our big Easter Egg hunts with everyone back home.

There is actually two--the first is when my parents came which was kind of a vacation and the second we went over for Spring Break and stayed at the Hilton Waikaloa where Daryl is staying over there. It was fun, but with so many pictures I thought it best to do a slide show....

Jordyn's Birthday March 15, 2009

For Jordyn's birthday she had a sleepover with 8 girls and all but 1 stayed the night. It was pretty crazy but they had fun. We had little party foods like bagel bites, chips and dip, etc.. then I made cupcakes that looked like they had popcorn on top and Shirley Temples. The girls played a celebrity guessing game, watched Beverly Hills Chihauhau(?) and stayed up late giggling. They also made sleep mask to take home. I made the mistake of buying them all feather boas and I am still finding feathers around!!

Baby's 1st steps

Kylyn is getting bigger everyday. In the same week she took a couple of small steps and learned to drink from a straw and learned to clap. At her 9 month appointment the beginning of March she weighed 19 lbs 4 oz and was 28 and 3/4 inches. Her hair is finally starting to grow, but she doesn't like anything on her head. I have to distract her to keep her barretts in. She still has no teeth, but seems to be teething all the time. She cruises everywhere but still isn't walking which is ok by me. She likes to dance too. Poor baby had her first ear infection last week.
She obviously likes to get into things too. Time to put locks on the cabinets!!!

Bransen Turns 6!

Hard to believe he is 6. He was just so cute. Still is but has got onery written all over that cute! Gotta love that smile!
On his birthday we went the Big Island and went to Bubba Gumps for his birthday dinner. A few weekends later we had a birthday party for him at home. It was a race car theme kind of. He only had 4 boys, but that was enough for me!!

Grandpa and Grandma Jenkins Visit

My mom and dad got to come visit again. This time was more fun because Kylyn wasn't brand new and we were able to go more places. On the 26th we flew over to the Big Island. That day was Bransen's 6th birthday so we told him that is what we are doing for his birthday. It was a long but short weekend. We had fun but we did a LOT of driving which Kylyn didn't enjoy too much. It was pretty windy and rainy but it was still fun. We tried to see the lava flowing from the volcano but you could only see it when it was dark and it was too windy to stay out there that long. We didn't go to beach much either because of the wind. But we saw lots of different parts of the island.
I think my parents enjoyed their stay this time around even though my dad still wound up sick again, but not as bad as last time.

The Edge Family comes for the Pro Bowl

Stephenie and Devon, Deonte and Daylen got tickets to the Pro Bowl so they came and stayed with us. It took them a few days to get here because they went on stand by but they finally did. We did as much as we could in the few days they were here. Austen and Jordyn got to go to the Pro Bowl with them because they got a couple extra tickets. We had a lot of fun with them here. Hopefully they had fun too. Romie didn't get to come but maybe next time. Thanks for coming guys and for the memories.

This is Kylyn's first biter biscuit!!.. It was all over the floor, all of the carpet, all over her. But she enjoyed it. Why is that babies are soooo messy when they eat???

She is growing up way to fast. The only thing I wish she would do is sleep through the night!!!!

Baby has learned to crawl and found the steps this week and just headed straight up. Now its just teaching her how to go down...

Court of Honor

Last Wednesday was Austen's first Court of Honor. He received his Tenderfoot and his first aid merit badge. The scout program in our ward is really pretty good. His leader Brother Nowell is on top of the boys and helping them get things done quickly. We are really proud of Austen and his accomplishments. He has been instrumental in getting his friend McKenna involved as well. The next step is inviting him to church. Scouts can be a great missionary tool.

Christmas was fun but a little crazy too. We had decided to surprise our kids with a trip back to Arizona the day after Christmas. They Loved it! But I had to pack in a day for a two week trip for 6 people. Yikes. But it all worked out. It was baby's first Christmas too. She wasn't quite sure what to think. She loved the paper of course.

Our Trip home was Fun, Furious and way too FAST! We loved every minute and didn't want to leave. We enjoyed spending time with family and friends and we even looked at a few houses because we are hoping we will get back there this summer. Thank you to all of you for the memories we share each time we are home. Can't wait to go back!

Ok so it took me a few days to get back to this but it got crazy....
December 13-20th
When I got back from my trip to Arizona it got crazy. Only two weeks til Christmas and I wasn't even close to being done. The night I got in we had a ward party, then all three of my kids had Christmas parties on 3 different days the following week, Jordyn had a Choir on concert on the 18th and then on the 19th I had my enrichment dinner that I was in charge of. Got released from that job the following Sunday! Whoo hoo!! and then it was Christmas....

While I was in Arizona I mostly stayed with Becky and my mom. I got to spend some time with my friends as well. We had a Christmas party the day after I got there with all of my Best Friends. It was kind of crazy getting to that point but we all had a wonderful time and I wouldn't have missed it for the world. We laughed and giggled and ate lots of yummy food of course. Thank you to Stacey who hosted it at her beautiful home. I wish we could do it more often.

I was also able to attend the Cooper Ward Christmas Party put on by Becky. It was fun to see everybody there again and not have to worry about chasing my kids around. I loved to catch up on everything going on in the ward and all the people having babies!!! and I thought it was just Hawaiian water that was the culprit...JK

Becky, Stacey and I went to Olive Garden for lunch to celebrate my birthday a little early. Sorry everybody else couldn't be there. It was yummo!!! We don't have one of those here in Hawaii.

Even though I got tons of calls from my husband telling me how stressed he was("men can't multitask") and how much more he appreciated me and all I can do at one time, it was so worth it to be able to enjoy that time with everybody. I wish I could do that once a month, excluding the air travel that is.

Ok so it has been forever since I updated this blog and my life so I guess I will go back to December and try and recount since then in as simple as I can. Let's See...

December 4th I left my husband and 3 older children behind in Hawaii and flew to Arizona to surprise my sister and a few friends. Raylene was having a baby and I really wanted to be there for it although she actually had him the week before I got there. I was able to pull off my surprise. She started crying when Kylyn and I were standing at her door as she answered it while I was talking to her on the phone pretending I was still in Hawaii. It was great! She had a boy named Keston.

We decided to take some family pictures at the beach which I am planning on using for Christmas cards. After ALOT of complaining from my children we finally managed to get a few taken but it was crazy. Nobody would sit still or stay in one place and the sun was in our face. Where were you BECKY!!! We needed our photographer. Oh Well that is as good as it's gonna get this year. I will be getting cards out hopefully in the next couple of weeks, but these are a few other's.

Halloween Fun!

Halloween night was a little crazy. I got to do it all myself again because Daryl was on the Big Island and couldn't get an early flight home. We went to the trunk or treat at 6:00 which hardly had anyone there. When we were ready to leave my car wouldn't start so I had to find jumper cables and then it almost still wouldn't start. Daryl got back about that time and came to the church and helped us get it started. Then we went home and I took the kids trick or treating for a bit and then Daryl took the older 3 to a haunted house at the school behind our house, while I got Kylyn ready for bed. Another lonely Halloween, but thank goodness it's over.

Ok, Well it has been a while, but my camera is weird and broke and only works when and if it wants to so most of my pics are on my phone which I haven't yet figured out how to download to my computer. On top of that Daryl is on the Big Island working every week and takes his camera with him. Anyway my camera grabbed a few pics before it went fuzzy again. I started Kylyn on cereal a couple weeks ago but she really just wants the spoon. On Oct 1 she learned to roll from back to front but hasn't quite mastered the other way yet. She then scoots away from her toys and crys. She is a horrible napper but is still always happy. She also is now starting to sit on her own a little and she loves her toes.

Jordyn's Hair Cut

Jordyn has been begging me to cut her hair for a long time, so I finally gave in and let her get it done. It was hard to see her cut it cause I liked it long even though I could never get her to comb it or do it nice. It saves me time now though.

Austen's Arrow of Light

On Tuesday the 23rd it was Austen's last pack meeting and he recieved his Arrow of Light. He and three other boys crossed over into boy scouts. He has been working pretty hard to get it. We are very proud of him.

Not much happening lately. On Sunday the kids managed to stay dressed after church so I took some pics of them together. I don't get many of those. We are all doing great. Kylyn will be 4 months in a week and I am sure she is pushing 15 pounds or more. She has found her voice and loves to hear it. One of these days I'll figure out how to put some video on here.

On Sunday before church Daryl was watching the race and holding Kylyn. She was watching too! It was too cute so I had to get a picture. She is getting so fun. She giggles alot and sings(or coos) when I sing to her. I wish you all could see her. She is as chunky as ever but cute right along with it, call me bias if you want...

Austen's Birthday

Austen turned 11 on Friday. He wanted to go to Farrell's for our family party so we went. The food is gross but the ice cream is good. Then Saturday he had a couple friends come over for pizza and ice cream cake and then Daryl took them to play mini golf. It was supposed to be glow in the dark golf, but wouldn't you know they weren't doing it that night, but I think they still had fun even though it is nothing compared to mini golf courses back home.

I have so many pictures that I want you all to see but I don't think this blog will hold them all and it will take forever so I will just post a few more.

We are all doing well, Daryl is finally home from Kwajalien. He takes his RCDD exam on Saturday so he needs all of your prayers to pass it. If he does then maybe we can come home sooner than next summer.

The kids were out of school yesterday and today and only have half a day tomorrow! We had a stake family fun fest yesterday that was fun, but now they are just bored again and I can't wait til tomorrow.

Austen turns 11 on Friday and gets to have a Big birthday, since last year we were new and he had no friends. He chose some friends to go play Cosmic mini golf and pizza and movies and ice cream cake, so I will post pictures of that next week. Jordyn finally lost her Nanny McPhee tooth and Bransen fell off the wall and skinned up his nose just in time for school pics on Thursday!! Anyway, time to feed the baby. More to come later

First Day of School

This was the first day of school for Austen and Jordyn. Bransen had 3 first days of school so we took pictures of him for each day he went (one wouldn't upload). There is one with him and the kids that is his Official first day even though it was a Friday, but Daryl has it on his camera so I will put in on when he gets back from Kwajalein. They all seem to be doing good in school. Although Bransen has already gotten in trouble for pinching a girl and standing on a chair. I'm not sure any teacher is ready for him though.... Homework is a bear already but we are managing.
